Watermelon Icee

Since alcohol seems to be a staple of summer, here is a healthier option for those of us who like to indulge during these hot months!

This is one of dietitian Jean’s favorite summer drinks! It’s extremely refreshing, and delicious with or without the booze! No added sugar, and no high-calorie mixers. It’s perfect.


4 cups watermelon

2 tsp lime juice

1/4 cup fresh mint leaves

4 oz vodka (optional)

1/8 tsp salt



Divide mint into four glasses and muddle in the bottom of each glass. In a blender, mix watermelon, lime juice, salt, ice, and vodka (if using). Pour into glasses and enjoy!
