This is a great substitute option for the traditional green-bean casserole at holiday gatherings. More than that? It’s simply satisfying.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp butter (or ghee)
3 tbsp chopped shallots
1 tbsp pine nuts (or chopped almonds)
1 cup mushrooms (optional)
1/2 tsp kosher/Pink Himalayan salt
1/4 tsp fresh-cracked pepper
1-2 cloves chopped garlic (optional)
8 oz trimmed hericots verts (french green beans)
Directions:
Melt butter/ghee in pan. Saute all remaining ingredients save the nuts until the green beans are crisp-tender (approx. 10 minutes or fewer). Sprinkle with pine nuts or almonds.
