C-FIT Studio Success Stories

Meet Hattie

Meet Hattie, C-FIT’s quiet, sweet, hardworking Huffepuff (*nod* to all you Harry Potter fans).

Don’t let her smile fool you! She’s a go-getting, plays hard, works harder, and loves adventures. It’s an honor to spotlight her this month; we are so proud of where she’s come from, her current habits and discipline despite life’s challenges, and where’s she’s going.

Hattie found her way to C-FIT Studio when she moved to 2005 after graduating college and getting married.

“I used to work downtown for The Virginian-Pilot and remember when C-FIT opened. I recall one of the trainers wrote a column for our section dedicated to Suffolk. I was intrigued, but it wasn’t until 2020 that I worked up the courage and motivation to contact C-FIT via the website. Jess called and we set up a strategy session. Her energy and enthusiasm hooked me. A few weeks later, COVID shut everything down, but Jess and Jacob organized outdoor workouts so I could keep working on my fitness goals.”

Since joining the C-FIT family, she’s gained, “Better strength, balance and flexibility. I’m an avid hiker and enjoyed attending fitness classes elsewhere prior to joining C-FIT. Despite my workouts and active lifestyle, I felt stagnant and my posture was horrendous. Since I started working out at C-FIT, I feel stronger, leaner, more muscular.”

Outside the gym, Hattie has noticed that “Making it through a tough workout reminds me that I can do hard things. This confidence transfers to all areas of my life.

“My workouts are specifically tailored to me and my needs. When I faced a life setback – breast cancer resulting in radiation and two surgeries – Jess was right there to keep me on track. I was limited in what I could do physically for a few months, but Jess has helped me ease back into a challenging routine.”

So, Hat. What would you suggest to someone just starting out on their fitness journey?

Don’t be afraid to take that first step. You can start small – an evening walk around the neighborhood, for example – and work your way up to more intense workouts. Whatever fitness activity you choose, make sure you’re having fun. If you enjoy your exercise routine, you’re more likely to stick to it. “

Would you recommend C-FIT to a friend/acquaintance?

Absolutely! I have nothing but positive things to say about C-FIT.”

Thank you for letting us be a part of your success, Hattie. You brighten our afternoons!
