Meet Diego

Meet Diego! He is C-FIT’s quiet grinder who is more hardcore than his gentle demeanor suggests. He knows how to take a workout and crush it with a smile!

Originally from Colombia, he lived in Newport News for more than a decade before finding his way to Suffolk for a more relaxed life. “We love it here; especially the people.”

Diego found C-FIT Studio when he sought a gym with yoga and exercise and a healthier lifestyle that was near his home in Suffolk. “The local corporate based gyms felt like an assembly line, not very friendly nor seemed very interested in why I was looking for a gym in the first place. I learned about C-FIT through the internet and decided to give it a try. Mrs. Womack was very professional, and I guess she asked the right questions. The nice and encouraging people and environment did the rest. Both fellow gym members and trainers are always there to provide guidance and support.”

“Before starting at C-FIT, any physical activity out of the ordinary will leave me sore the next day: yard work, loading the truck, etc. While I lost some weight before starting at the gym, with C-FIT exercise routines, I feel more able to do physical activities. I am no longer winded when climbing stairs, nor do I feel sore the next day. I feel stronger and more resilient. I’ve begun to like what I once saw as something necessary just for my health.”

Outside of C-FIT itself, Diego has been “biking around the neighborhood and eating a healthier diet. What I’ve learned from the various trainers have given me a better perspective of the benefits of an active life and helped me enjoy it.”

Specifically, C-FIT has more focus in the person. I get advice if need it and enjoy the training sessions. It’s a close group of people, and it helps me to feel part of a team. I feel that the trainers really care for my progress and enjoy our achievements.” 

For someone just starting out, Diego says, “Engage and do your best effort from the start. Don’t think twice when it is time for your exercise session. With time, your body responds, you feel more able, and you will find strength you had no idea you have. The exercise will help you to know your body better, and you learn its strengths. I definitively encourage friends and family to join and enjoy the experience.”
