But what is it, and why is it important?
Long story short, inflammation, when acute (i.e. short-term) is a good thing. It lets us know that something is wrong and that the body needs to fix it or is currently trying to fix it. But when chronic (i.e. long-term), inflammation can lead to a host of health issues, many of which people chalk up to being “just the way it is,” or an effect of “getting older,” not limited to, but including: fatigue, depression, anxiety, insomnia, mental fog, low sex-drive, IBS or other GI disorders, arthritis, asthma, chronic pain, acne, and so much more.
Here at C-FIT Studio, we don’t agree that those things ought to be an expected part of life. With this 3-part inflammation series, we will dig into that “long story” mentioned above and go into one of the biggest culprits in inflammation today, why it matters, and what to do about it.
